    RRC/D2 PARK BRAKE SHOES

RRC/D2 park brake shoes, are they the same?
I have a spare RRC park assy and the shoes on the D2 are oil soaked from a dud rear output seal leak.

    Cheers

If the RRC has a cable operated hand brake - they are the same.

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

    Purists might cringe but...........

Had the oil soaked pad prob on an LT95. Changed the seal and fabbed an oil catch fitting that was missing.

Pads were soaked in some sort of solvent (can't remember) for an hour or so, air dried then gently heated on the stove from memory. Oil came bubbling out of the pad material. Repeated process and hardly any came out. Soaked in solvent for a while, dried with heat and re-installed. Worked fine, better function than ever. Remember thinking that the park brake was probably then working as intended.

    cheers, DL

I havent taken mine out yet, but if they are still useable i have plenty of brake cleaner at work and a robowash to hopefully sort it out! This would pretty much do the same thing. Everytime i use the robowash i still manage to burn myself after setting it to max temp ;/
