Does your vehicle have a hydraulic clutch dampener?
My D1 does and it failed, resulting in a pulsing clutch pedal.
New dampener and all is well...
Plus they are a cheap and easy fix.

Could well be the dual mass flywheel, mine was doing much the same, the Rodeos at work do similar stuff.
From posts on here,250000k is about the life of the TD5 Dual Mass Flywheel.
They are reasonably priced compared to the Nissan/Mitsi/Iszuz items.

Took it for a drive this arvo, nothing, no vibration, no noises, nothing, drove perfect

Peter went over the car, checked the shafts, gearbox and tranny mounts, bell housing bolts, diffs, oil levels are all good, colour of the oil.

I'm confused, even my daughter noticed the vibration and noise from the passenger seat.

Ahh well that makes a bit more sense Is this the Peter who works out near Riddle Creek? If so I too have been recommended him by forum members in the past and I would have been there a few times already if I didn't live so far away. I'd definitely trust him after what I've heard

Well that's a pretty good thing if it actually has gone away, hopefully it stays that way. I wish my noise would just go away

could be a sticking throw out bearing, sticking fingers or the dual mass is starting to give up/stick.

fozz does the same thing but I know that its because I have an oil contaminated friction plate, when at partial engagement it slips and grabs shock loading the whole driveline and sending pulses back through the clutch pedal. Its worse when its cold but ok once everything warms up.

Dave I'm thinking it's only when it gets hot, I'm going to give a long run tomorrow to see how it goes, but I'm leaning towards the Flywheel

Thanks everyone so far, I'll keep you posted.

stick it in 4th low park break off and give it a rock back and forth against the compression.

if you get clunking from the bell housing area the DMF has gone RS.

Hahaha well I was wayyyyy off with everything there, I didn't even have the right state! Probably best for everyone I just keep my mouth shut from now on

I hope whatever that clunk is doesn't end up being anything nasty, it's the worst when you get something back from getting "fixed" only to find a new noise that you don't like the sound of

OK so Peter will look at it after our trip, the car seems fine now and no amount of driving seems to replicate the problem

So for now we will leave it until we return from our trip away.

    Fingers crossed, Baz.
    Cheers Baz.
