With the $A so strong against the $US, for about $150 - $200 more, you can get a set of Bilsteins from America - about half the price they are in Australia.

    1973 Series III LWB 1983 - 2006
    1998 300 Tdi Defender Trayback 2006 - often fitted with a Trayon slide-on camper.

    Hi,
Has anyone had their shocks rebuilt?
I had one of my motorcycles rear shocks rebuilt for half the price of an aftermarket shock and the result was great. I assume the shocks in a def get much more punishment than they would on a bike.
    Cheers and happy Xmas

Mr James - may I suggest you find some old rubber bits to replace what's lost or don't drive the defer until your new shocks arrive. If the mounting hole goes oval it will be a problem to make the new rubbers fit properly.

For those that are buying from the USA, can you post up what brands, models and how much your getting them for. Also what vehicle you are putting them on and the vendor you bought from. It may help others.

    cheers,

    Worth looking at koni too.
Not only do they last extremely well, the adjustable rebound lets you set them up to the springs and load you've got. Not what the shock makers think you've got.
