i find that the rear tailshaft unijoints life is measured in years but the front can be measured in months !!!!!! just keep greasing them and hope for the best ! if you can get grease out of all four bearings get a lottery ticket !!!!!

Well... Turns out I have the K5-13XRs as well. So TWO different parts places sold me the incorrect part yesterday, and I had to take them back today

I have previously always been supplied the correct UJ, and have never noticed the PN.

So - the list on the previous page needs to be corrected:

    K5-13XR
    TOYO - $17.50 from Auto 1 Broome.
Hardy Spicer (in a Repco Box) - $20 from Repco
GKN (says GKN and hardy spicer on box) - $49 from Rovacraft

    K5-4LR
Hardy Spicer (in a Repco Box) - $36 from Repco
GKN (says GKN and hardy spicer on box) - $49 from Rovacraft

Interesting that the 13XRs were significantly cheaper at Repco but the same price at Rovacraft (compared to the 4LRs). I also find it interesting that Auto 1 in broome could supply the correct part first go, but a specialist rover parts supplier can't... Even though I gave them all vehicle details including the VIN.

The Spicer/Repco 13XR have much longer caps (and presumably longer rollers) than the GKN 13XR. Not sure if this correlates with longevity???

I found the RRC sizes and put them in this thread:
    RRC Universal Joint Sizes

Given I haven't had to refuel my rangie in a year, mine will last a long time.

I use GKN TVC1000010 genuine uni's. They are exactly the same as original equipment. Last very well, the key is to maintain regularly from new. IF the grease hardens in one of the passageways, then it will be impossible to get grease through later, causing failures eventually.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

To quote from your post there:
Excellent Phil, with that number I found this, it has all the dimensions:
    http://www.hardyspicer.com.au/PDF_Fi...20Bearings.pdf

The K5-13XR is listed for early rangerover (mine is on the changeover) and measures 26.99x81.76mm, it is 1310 series.
The K5-A757 is listed for later classic rangerover and measures 26.99x74.61mm, it is 1300 series.
K5-4LR is the same size as K5-A757.

According to the UK parts manuals, my 110 is after the changeover from 13XR to 4LR, however it seems the oz-built models didn't change.

Interestingly, the 4LR/A757 size was fitted to series 1s and 2s. However series 2As, 3s and coillers until the mid-late 80's got the larger 13XR, then LR went back to the smaller UJ.

13XRs should be much cheaper than the others (in AU) as the same size is also fitted to most falcons and many other fords.

    I run these ones.

Good luck breaking them. I've driven on a failed DC joint for about 1500km and the uni joints and bearings went straight back in when I rebuilt it (with a new DC flange and centre bearing) and they still haven't given problems. I cant speak highly enough of them - if they fit your shaft!

    Hi Serg,

No not me, I had always thought that a uni was what it was rather than being able to be upsized. These ones start at 1310 and run up to 1350. AFAIK yours will probably be running 1300's and the 1310's (I may be corrected) run a greater distance between bearings.
    Cheers

Your rears will be 1300 series/K5-A757 (HD version of the K5-LR4) as will the diff end of the front shaft. (I think)
