I tried to check that my winch was still working the other day. The little red button on the solenoid block which activates the wireless remote was seized. I managed to push it in, but obviously not all the way. I have tried several applications of WD40, but still no improvement.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I assume it should be reasonably simple to dismantle the solenoid pack and free up the switch?
Has anyone found a solution to stop this happening again? A plastic bag around the solenoid pack is probably cheap and easy, however substituting the push button for a sealed toggle switch may be more permanent. Seems that this is a design flaw....
Ben this switch must be a feature of the newer tigerz. My model (2 years old now) has a switch on the wireless remote but nothing on the solenoid pack?
The solenoids packs are pretty easy to pull the covers off - but the actual solenoid doesnt like being dissasembled!!!! fused/soledered wires crossing the bolted connection.
Probably possible but not easy - very similar design to outboard motor solenoids... I expect it is part of the waterproofing process but makes it hard to strip n clean.
