    Bosch Scorchers Rock!

Well I fitted my new Bosch Scorcher electronic dizzy a couple of weeks ago now to my 3.5v8. I’ve been testing it since then and found out it’s the greatest simple bolt on I’ve had, and quite water proof to. At just over $660 with coil it’s made a noticeable difference to low down off the line power, without pinging when going up steep hills. Makes the engine run smooth all over the rev range, with a better cold start. For once the timing is very well controlled and stable rather than at the mercy of pagan gods. I can’t tell exactly how much fuel I’m saving because my speedo is broken, but it’s a lot better and I hope to map it out soon. I really didn’t know it would make such a difference, if I did I would of done it 2years ago!

no good preaching to me I saw the light a couple of years ago and fitted one. Seems the price has not risen in that time

Sure did get on of those cards, but I left it at home, up here in Moura for a bit now. I just went and got the numbers off the cap, button and amp I'd say these are the part numbers:
    CAP number: 923 1065 546
    Button number: 923 1064 310
    AMP number: 922 2067 021 and a suffix of 00525
All made in Australia. Hope these work, otherwise will have to wait 3 weeks till I get back to Toowoomba!

Yep, got the Scorcher on my 3.9 D1 (95) a few years ago and its a revelation. Dizzy fuel injected LR's are just so much better with them

    Cheers

Yep its like owning a holden V8..they just start and go, even after 6 weeks of sitting...first hit of the key, settling into nice idle quickly, and no silly rev fluctuation at idle that is often put down to the stepper motor...and ohh... no pinging and good high rpm power....ohh my god where has my Rover gone!!

    Cheers

one thing I noticed, my battery needed replacing , I fitted a new 660cca battery and power is better now, obviously a dud battery running the car radkio, a/c etc etc and also trying to feed the dizzy was not good on performance. I didn't realise that a steady 12 volts to the dizzy made so much difference
