    shock lengths

    hi all,im running toy 80 series shocks in the front of my s1 disco and nissan gq in the rears,,now im thinking of replacing with new soon but carnt recall if they were 2 inch lifted shocks or just standed,compared to a 2 inch longer land rover shock they extend out a fair bit more,,if any one has done this can you let me know what you put in so i dont have to remove the shock to measure

    Hi Mick,
    bit hard to say as I'm not sure what else you have done. Flex it up gradually until you are comfortable the coils are not stretching too far and then measure the length you want the shocks to be.

    Then you can find shocks that suit the length you want and then decide whether you need original (factory) length Cruiser shocks or slightly longer after market Cruiser shocks.

    OME N73 Landcruiser shocks (Toy 80 series lifted) are 615mm open and 350 closed. Using these you either need to extend the bump stop or raise the shock turret 25mm. Springs would be 17" free length.
