I had the LRA change over ECU in my previous D2 and the difference towing our camper was enugh to make me go 'Wow'.
Just DO IT. it's a great mod at a very reasonable price (I think I paid abut $650 4 years back). If you have an early D2, Tombie can't help as he needs the 'flashable' ECU, I think most others are the same which means (apart from LRA) you will have the beast off the road for a week or 3, depending who you use. It's literally 10 minutes for the exchange at LRA.

BTW, you don't need ANY mechanical savvy to take the ECU out, just remove the jack/battery cover and remove the screws and plugs, out she comes

Supprised Tombie hasn't responded but my understanding is that there is a simple mod to the nonflashable ECU's so they can be "flashed".

I believe it is the soldering in of a different chip but I'm no IT person.

I think Tombie's sick of arguing with people who think they know more about the Td5 than he does. Pat

Thanks so much to all but I just cant afford to do other mods on top of the chip and I am thinking they really should be done to protect the engine, so
unfortunately I will not be getting it done at this stage. I'm absolutely spewin
. Thank to everyone who replied and gave advice, I appreciate your input.

Cheers Steve
