    Paint

Paint Colors: Hello all, this is my first post after just receiving my first Land Rover Last night. I bought a 1973 Series 3 Stylside Pick Up (see photo attached). I would like to give it a fresh coat of paint, but I cant find the paint code for the Mustard / Dull Yellow shade. Any ideas? There seem to be a few different shades of yellow out there and I want to be sure I get the correct one. Thanks - Hank

A 1973 SIII 109" should be Camino Gold see the SIII sticky thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-3/1...ml#post1295849 however looking at your image it appears that the truck cab panel may be the later Bahama Gold.

Is it possible that your ute was originally a hard-top and subsequently changed to the truck-cab ute using the cab off a late 1970's 109"?

Thanks for that. The guy I bought it from did mention that the tops of the doors were changed at some point, so I am assuming he didn't match the paint. If Bahama Gold was the paint of the year in 1973, I think I will go that route. Thanks for the help.

    No Camino Gold = 1973

    Bahama Gold = circa 1978

However to my dimming aged eyes and the problems determining colour on a computer monitor, it appears that your car has been re-painted in bahalma gold at some point and the door-tops are camino gold.

Today, I have a preference for the slightly darker Bahama Gold.

The colours were used on a range of other Australian built, British Leyland cars of the time including the P6 Rover cars plus Austin and Morris marques.
