How it works is in the manual .

I`m not aware of any sensitivity adjustment .

It just goes off at random times, sometimes when a car passes, sometimes it seems when it feels like it.

Twice this morning when someone was getting stuff out of a ute the next bay along.

Mine goes off when you unlock the doors with the door key sometimes it takes 5 or 6 goes of locking and unlocking to get the alarm to stay off

sometimes it comes back on when you go to turn the ignition on

electricians had a look cant figure out why

They were factory fitted as stated earlier. I'm not aware of any adjustment either. Mine has never given trouble except when there was a moth in the car that flew past the motion sensors. The motion sensors are those things that look like tiny speakers above the mirror; perhaps you could put something in front of them or tape over them or similar.

This may or may not help, but here goes:
If you lock the car with the remote, this does 2 things- 1, it locks the doors; and 2, it arms the alarm & immobiliser.
if you lock the car with the key, it ONLY locks the doors- it does not arm the alarm.

If you lock the car with the remote, you arm the alarm. Say you then unlock it with the KEY, then you only unlock the doors; the alarm is still armed.

More confusingly- say you lock the car with the key. Doors are locked, alarm is not active. If you then come along and press the REMOTE, you will UNLOCK the doors, but at the same time, you will ARM the alarm! Thus when you open a door, all hell breaks loose and you are frantically trying to figure out what combination of pressing the remote and opening/closing doors will stop the noise.
Easy once you realise that if you LOCK it with the key, you must UNLOCK it with the key; and if you LOCK it with the remote, you have to UNLOCK it with the remote.

thanks for the info, its played nice tonight, i gave the doors a good slam just to make sure they where shutting properly.

Good tip about locking with the key disables the alarm.
Now, how am I going to cut tape to exactly fit the sensors

Just pull the housing outa the roof lining ... Unplug em ... Put the housing back ...
