Stripping polyurethane
Does anyone know of a safe chemical stripper to remove polyurethane coating from wood veneer? Safe meaning it doesn't dissolve the adhesive attaching the veneer.

No. What about making a scraper out of an old power-hacksaw blade and scraping the varnish off? If you are gentle it will not remove the veneer,

You could try this -
Peel Away Australia - Asia Pacific Pty Ltd
It comes in a marine version that might suit. Give their tech line a call.
