over the last couple of days I have done: My timing belt + a mates timing belt, plumbed my new (2nd hand)maxi-drive locker into my vacuum line, gave the disco a service and gave it a (well deserved) wash :)
oh, and stuck on my new "LAND ROVER" sticker to the front of my bonnet ;)
On leave so working in the shed on the Landies.
Pulled the Holden donk out of my series 2 and tomorrow the Nissan box comes out! Then she will be all ready to have a standard 2.25 engine and gearbox installed. Just like when she rolled off the production line back in the early sixties!
Cheers, Mick.
Insulated the fireman's side and rear footwells with 6mm insertion rubber, and cut some to go on top of the wheel arches in the back. Should keep a bit of heat out as well as some noise-but mainly for the heat. The driver's side already had 6mm rubber on the floor which makes a huge difference versus when I take it out.
All the floors have thin ribbed rubber underneath the insertion rubber to allow drainage and drying of the floors.
6mm will see half an hour out before the heat creeps thru. i have 12mm and its good for an hour and a bit at best in summer..
the tubed mat may slow it a little with the air buffer as well...
New project arrived during the week, started pulling it apart to determine if it's viable or not.
Pictures and thread to come soon :D
Plumbed up today, a stainless steel sink in the back corner of the garage ready for washing hands, bound to be dirty after a hands on day tomorrow working on the ongoing TD5 project.
I had to move a vehicle out of the way for tomorrows work in the garage.
Undid the tail lamp to top up as the gasoline gauge showed the level was showing low.
With gas available and the automatic choke tweaked, the blue flame ran nicely and to back it up, I moved the gear lever to second briefly then straight into reverse. Why?
Now you can tell me what make of car it is and about what year was it made?
.
Tightened up the front radius bushes, same for the rear trailing arms plus spring retainers, fitted the "A" frame and ball joint on the rear axle, fitted the cab and fitted the tray. Then packed up all my bits for its move 50km so it can be worked on over the weekend instead of only some Fridays and the occasional Saturday. The move will also take a hour off my travelling time to do some work.
Took photo.
