Finished changing my swivel pin seals.
Pulled the two front mudguards off 'Rusty Bob from Bruny Island' and extracted it's wiring loom, could be useful to patch another relic up.
.
Found out that the flex plate is cracked.

Puts me back yet another week. But when it's been almost 3 months who cares, I DO. I'm still mobile and in a friends RRC but can't wait to slip behind a familiar wheel and auto.
That reminds me of the time I had a diff spit chunks out the pan. Getting the replacement diff parts only took two weeks, and then someone offered to weld up the pan for me, but it leaked like a sieve. Then it was patched again, but still leaked. Four months after the diff catastrophe I managed to get a replacement housing. FOUR MONTHS! You still have a month to go buster!
Oddly enough I too was lucky enough to borrow a mate's RRC for part of that time.
Todays saga.
BTW the dowels are damaged. You need at least one because we lost it.
I lost it then.
Found out flex plate from rover spares is NEW for $50- how can rover justify $800 fot a round disc with 8 holes in it?
And the dowels were $5-instead of $48-
Cut the **** out of the discos 1/4 panels to fit the tyres it should of came with from the factory. Why oh why did they fit those pidly little tyres
Scored myself a set of custom RRC steel rims.
The centres have been trimmed down to 15" and then welded into 15x8" ROH shells with a -22 offset.
Gave them a touch-up of paint ready to fit the 33s and onto the disco tomorrow. :D

Fitted a set of cross-drilled, grooved disc rotors to the L322 as I had a shocking shudder from warped discs - all sweet now!
Will look good too when the grooves get dusty with the black powder!!(sad I know)

For once, just some value added stuff. Since I have had the land rover ( a bout four years ) I have had to plug the camp light into the cab cigarette lighter. So I have fitted a small four fuse fuse holder next to the battery and would have fitted a cigarette lighter in next to the tail gate but found that I need more wire than I have. Did though fit a merit socket next to the fuses for the compressor and fitted a merit plug to the compressor. This will make using the compressor so much easier.
