I built a rear storage system. still a bit of work to finish it but its most the way there ...I was going to do the usual black marine carpet + alloy edging but I think I might just hit it with a lacquer instead. kinda dont mind the wood grain look.
I am also installing a shelf up the top.

.. gave my MY11 Puma the full Lanonlin rust prevention treatment today.. 3 cans, 1 pump spray bottle and a very sheepy smell in my hair later , i am feeling much better about the chassis and firewall... ;)
nice drawer setup.
yesterday, broke the tailshaft, front right axle and cv, and some steering bits moved around.
with help from the mates in our club, all was back on the tracks for the afternoon run.
i just don't understand how many people in our club carry spares and are willing to lend bits to get someone out of trouble,
thanks to all who helped me.
Went and looked at some new suspension for the Disco after i get my bar sorted. :cool:
Sorted out lights and looked at UHFs as well.
Now to sort out that coolant leak...

True, but there's steel wool, and there's steel wool.The stuff from the supermarket is crap. Try asking in antique shops ( entirely appropriate for LR owners! ), as the stuff they use is awesome.Quote:

This was yesterday:
Ezyrama came round & we got Beast (my SIII 109) running nicely, with some assistance from Blknight.aus (who's probably still laughing at the amateurs!).
Got the brakes bled from 'none existant' to 'terrifying'. Reckon I'm going to replace all the cylinders, as we can't seem to get all the sponginess out.
The Ho Hars did advise doing the brakes as a first priority on any Series purchase, but to be frank other things have taken priority in the very limited Landy budget until now.
A few weeks ago:
Replaced the rear door lockin handle as I didn't have a key for it.
Several weeks ago: Blknight.aus did a lot of work in very quick time to diagnose & then repair fuel problems - fitted a reconditioned lift pump & some other bits. I replaced the main tank & engine bay fuel lines, removing the change over valves in the process. Dave provided an electric pump for the secondary tank, which I still have to plumb in. The plan being to pump from the secondary tank to the filter & leave all the return going to the main tank. That way if I want to I can pump the secondary to the main tank.
Opened the bonnet to test the torque settings on the manifold nuts. Completed the removal, cut the webbing out of the manifold and reinstalled with new gaskets last weekend. Thought I'd do the right thing and check to see if the bolts were still tight. The stud I replaced was nearly falling out and the thread in the engine is stuffed :mad:. Not happy Jan! And whilst I was inspecting said stud, I was leaning across from the passenger side and had my left hand on the top of the radiator. Managed to snap the plastic radiator return line clean in two after keeping it safe last weekend and also the weekend before when installind the D2a radiator. Holy fliping batcrap batman :censored:. Should have just left the bloody thing alone!! Now I have to take it to a mechanic:rocket: who will no doubt rob me blind!!
