Picked mine up from the body shop after having the rear corner damage repaired. Old school panel beater who knows his stuff, he's done an excellent job and I'm well pleased with the result :banana:
Only problem is it now shows up the rest of the vehicle :D
Replaced the ABS modulator solenoid pack to get rid of the three Amigos.
Seems to have worked so far.
This morning I removed a spring from one of my donor vehicles to replace the one I broke on Saturday (see above).
I was astounded at how easy it turned out to be. I was expecting to have all sorts of problems with seized nuts, rusted in shackle pins, damaged U-bolt threads etc.
In the event, the only hassles were that I had no deep socket for the U-bolt nuts, and the 'cocky' bullbar attachment interfered with getting a spanner on the nut on the shackle pin at the front of the spring. Got round this by removing a bolt and creative use of a hi-lift jack between the top of the bullbar and the front crossmember.
Living inland (and that it is an inland vehicle) makes a world of difference.
Now all I have to do is to brush off the rust, paint it, fit new bushes, oil it, and swap the springs.

Saturday before last: Installed a dirty-great LED flood light at the top, left corner of the back of the County, next to the rear door. Have a three position switch installed on the inside so it can be turned on, off or to automatically come on with the reversing light.
Much easier to back into tight spots at night, now. :cool:
Turned out a lot more work fitting the spring than I had expected. Mainly because after about an hour of trying to get the centrebolt into the hole in the axle, I realised it was a different size! Had to take the spring back off and drill out the hole. Managed to get finished just before dark.

Well last few days I have spent removing manifold and head.:(
Took the head and exhaust manifold into the machine shop today. They looked at it and said yes they can fix it:cool:

It has been whining since I did the head gasket, all it took was a new set of injector o-rings and copper washers :o. Genuine parts this time, lesson learned, if you are going to take the injectors out of your td5 put the real thing back in otherwise you will just have to have them out again a few weeks down the track.
I just finished getting it all back together, see how it goes tomorrow. Not the sort of job I wanted to get better at doing, but it is much quicker the second time around.
Knocked up a spare wheel carrier.As gravity is getting stronger due to climate change:D added a mod the jib is a little higher than needed but use it for the shower bucket as well :p
