    Well, job half done.
Started to swap out the Brake Rotors and pads today. Got the rears finished, now just have to do the fronts tomorrow.
Also put my new +60 globes in. Blew the left one Thursday night, then when I went to go to work Friday morning, turned the lights on and bingo, drivers sides blown too
So, tomorrow, will put the fronts on and hopefully get to fit up my new Catch-Can, although I need some hose to finish that. Then it'll be onto cleaning the intercooler
Pics tomorrow after the jobs done.

Crawled underneath and measured a route for a heavy duty battery connection from the battery compartment under the passengers seat along the underside and then up into the rear at the back of the drawers. Planning for it to be able to charge either a battery to be fitted in a compartment behind the rear of the drawer, or to connect to my Ark box, or both. Then went out and bought a four metre nice thick battery cable and a circuit breaker. So next week, while I holiday, I plan to measure and drill a hole in the floor, fit a grommet, fit all that up plus a negative cable, and be ready to buy a battery.Spent some time tonight scanning battery prices and trying to decide if I'll go for an Optima at $350-399 or some kind of AGM for less. Still deciding how much storage I really need. Funds are a bit tight at present because of other demands, so I'm slowly saving and working my way down my wish list.

I've just fitted ali strips along the bottom trim to cover the small dents in them. Had them made up by a bloke in Midland for much less than an after market suppliers wants.
While I was at it I replaced the felt in between the trim and body with some weather seal I've had in the shed for years.
I'd done one side after I got the beast about 3 years ago and the seal shows no sign of falling out like the original LR stuff did. Some very poor quality stuff used on so called "go anywhere vehicles"!

Drove from Yass to home with three grandkids and two dogs on board, towing about 3/4tonne trailer as well as being loaded close to max GVW.

The 110 performed faultlessly, maintaining the speed limit except on the steepest hills and when stuck behind slow vehicles (worst was a semi doing 60-80 most of the way from Wellington to Geurie, where the limit is 110. Finally got past on the only overtaking lane on this stretch, as there was near continuous traffic the other way). Not bad for a vehicle close to 30 years old with the engine untouched at nearly 600,000km.

Most interesting wasabout 10km from home on a rather remote bush track, when stopped to open a gate, a small car with an 'L' plate caught up, and the supervising driver got out and asked "can we get to Coonabarrabran this way?" Well, you can, but the road is not too good, although you should be able to get through. I gave them directions and saw the head off to the left after we turned right at the next gate.

Bit of cleaning up, removed centre console, test fitted the ex-box and now ready to tidy up and relocate a lot of the electrical wiring, from battery box into the exbox with new fuse box etc.

Spent time yacking to the next door neighbour who is getting ready to head to the NW with his D3, van and family for a few months.

Well, the brakes are all finished now, but not without issues along the way.
Cross threaded hub nut on the rear, from the factory , so will have to replace that. Also, as I'd forgotten all about seals, I couldn't pull the rear bearings from all the wheels, so I'll have to tear them back down in a few weeks to repack the bearings and replace the seals too.
Some very tight bolts along the way, so tight were the front drive flange bolts, not only could the rattle gun not touch them, but they were cracking as I undid them, just waiting for the eventual broken bolt. Lucky for me, it didn't happen

repaired the Bulls Eye Stone chip and installed a new Radio Head Unit, Sony MEX-5150BT, still need to grab another couple of bits like the euro adaptor for the radio, and I've ordered the PAC-SWI-RC which I'll install to be able to keep using the steering wheel remote...
Sounds good, cd's happy bluetooth happy, mic works.. so far all good.

    Never ending complete

Finally had all the parts and quite a list of repairs but a good two days without the missus and kids and got them all done.

Finally removed that EGR valve what a waste of time and money that is. took a bit of cleaning in the intake manifold didnt know they did so much damage.

fitted the new alternator, belt tensioner, crank harmonic balancer, new radiator and hoses and cleaned down the oil mess that is never ending. then replaced both engine mounts as they were totally compressed.

replaced both front and rear rotors and pads then fixed for good my engine fuse panel problem that just cuts the car out when ever it feels like.... DEADLY. thought it was now a good time to fit the new batterythen got over excited and did the exhaust manifold which only has 1 snapped stud (so i though) 4 snapped studs later and they were out.... re surfaced both the exhaust side and the turbo side (exhaust was 3-4mm warped) but did not do the webbing as i can see how that helps at all?? fitted all back together then removed the muffler and wound up the boost to 126kpa. YEHAAA she goes and sounds great cant believe I waited this long.

last repair still to be made. the bypass on the WABCO unit to finally get rid of those damn three amigos which have been there for 2 years AAAGGGHHHHH.

Slowly and sadly becoming a LR tragic.

all in all good weekend when you can get a solid 10 hours a day without packing up the tools.

bought all the parts online from Advance Factors UK bit by bit and got great pricing on everything and generally genuine where required and delivery within 10 days!!
