On the County, cleaned headlight protectors (sort of a last step in the service I have been doing over the last few days). Replaced the stuck on "Landrover" badge on the back, now starting to disintegrate, with a metal one off a Series Landrover. Removed the cubby box, which on the County is over the top of the airconditioner, as I have it booked in on Tuesday to find and fix the leak. Found the missing front door key under it, not to mention a screw, a pen, lots of dust, and a couple of lolly wrappers.

Between your 2 vehicles, there is a repair / replacement going on every week it seems. I have to ask... are there any original parts left on your vehicles?
Props for keeping the landy love alive!

Its funny you should ask that.
When I get up Johns way, I'm going to ask for a visit for a few days if he'll have us there I reckon cruising around fixing things at his place would be cool

Turned the house upside down trying to find the wife's keys to the Defender, which she has misplaced. Also tracked her steps backwards toThursday night, when we believe they went missing. Inspected a friend's front yard to see if they had been dropped there. No luck. Looks like I'm off to the stealer this week to shell out for a new set.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    ....
Lots of original parts, but the "secret" to keeping 30-50 year old vehicles reliable is to fix things as problems become evident rather than to wait until they accumulate. Also seems to take me a lot longer to do things than it did fifty years ago (offset by the fact that I often have a lot better idea what I am doing than I did then!).
