Picked up the 130 from the workshop. Head gasket repaired, head rebuilt and machined, new fuel pressure regulator....
Overtime at the pickle factory to pay for it all...![]()
Moved the sIIa out of the shed only to find a pool of
brake fluid on the floor from the left rear.
Will now get cylinders s/s sleeved..
Andrew.
Well after a lot of interruptions 'Fred' now has his flywheel back on, checked the injector pump position with the pin and it slid through easily, You beauty mate!
Now I need to find four of 10 x 70 bolts that hold the brackets that come back from the engine mounts onto the bottom of the flywheel housing and that means picking up the phone in the morning to see if anyone has some spare.
This finding of bolts, etc is the trouble when building up engines and gearboxes from parts that have been sourced from all over the globe, most things arrive without the handful of bolts that used to hold them in place.
.
I was enjoying driving down the highway after transferring my new toy into my name when I wound down the window only to have it drop to the bottom of the door (nice timing). After stripping the door and finding the problem (rusted window runner on the bottom) I pulled my spare out of my old dozer and began the ***** of a job of converting a 97 window winder to a 93 winder..
Fun and games, holes to be drilled adjustments to be made, but after a few hours of choice words and grease and crud every where I now have a tinted drivers window and it goes up and down very smoothly.
Saturday and Sunday its swap the suspensions from the dozer to the yeti and keep the dozer on blocks while I dismantle the whole thing and dispose of the remains. Not a fun time, me and dozer had a short time together but we saw lots and proved to a few haters that discos are unbelievable in the rough stuff
Repaired some rust under the alpine window that some tool just tried to cover up.. Rust treated and resprayed.
Now for the suspension tomorrow.. I'll try to remember to take some pics cause this is gonna be a big job, remove it all from one disco and put it all on the other..
Decided to change the turbo hoses on the 300 tdi. Located a marine exhaust rated metal ribbed rubber 2 inch hose. I went and bought 2 meters of the stuff for $70. No more 90 degree bends nice and smooth curves. I cant see a problem at this time.

Started pulling apart the dozer and inspecting parts ready for figment onto the Yeti, seems I have leaking axle seals on the front and very worn rear brake pads to replace before I fit them up, also having trouble removing the ps front shock but now the axle assembly is out it should be easier. Lucky the 93's don't have sway bars look at the bush on the rear of the dozer, the link bushes were so bad it was rubbing on the steel (that's where the squeak was coming from).. It's a good thing I'm pulling the dozer apart I'm learning a lot about what wears quick when you over do it, and what else I should have modified on it. So I won't be making a few mistakes the second time around.
about to go and tidy up the new wire harness i made for my three hid converted hella 2000's, solder instead of crimp fittings plus fit a new lift pump
