Yes, ordered mine off Ben. He is organising to paint them bright yellow - should look good I think!

Drove it, and realised how much I've missed driving it!
'George' is in having his 60,000 km service. The workshop says the clunking noise I had thought might be the rear door banging was actually caused by a nut missing off a bolt in a trailing arm, so a new bolt and nut are being fitted. Good to know the cause and get it fixed.
Actually yesterday, but confirmed fix with a trip into town today.
Found and fixed very annoying rattle behind the dash of the 110. Turns out to be one of the heater bowden cables vibrating against the air cleaner housing. It had worn through the nylon outer, so it was metal to metal with the aircleaner housing acting as a sounding board.

John,
How did the chassis, body repairs on your LR go?
Andrew
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Clancy MY15 110 Defender
Clancy's gone to Queensland Rovering, and we don't know where he are
Eventually completed about a month ago, actually taking a bit over a week to complete. Appear to be generally satisfactory, except for niggles such as leaving the fuel tank breather disconnected.
Overall, the repair is satisfactory* rather than perfect, with the performance of the insurance company woeful - but stories I have heard suggest that this is typical of the industry rather than one company being outstandingly bad. (For example a motorist reporting an accident to a different company running up a sixty dollar bill on their mobile in the queue, actually reported as a problem with the phone industry!)
* minor problems such as the mudguard stay showing bare metal from damage to paint done cutting off the bolt attaching it to the chassis and not repainted, same with mudflap brackets. Similarly, P-plate holder reinstalled with the bottom sticking a couple of centimetres below the crossmember - it hasn't hit anything yet, but I expect it will if I don't move it up.

Fitted a new front drive prop shaft to the D2 today. Afterwards took for a test drive to make sure all running smooth, and after driving the D3 for the last few weeks, could not tell if the D2 was OK! Been spoiled by the smoothness of the D3. D'oh.
