Put a new ignition in the D2 I bought from Paddocks. Got it keyed alike in Wangaratta for $30. Bargain.

Biggest high - not breaking anything and installing it properly! I didn't even round any nuts or bolts! That hardly ever happens. And it works.

Just got my disco2 td5 back from the mechanics. Replaced the loom and had a major service on it and few other little bits done. Really wanted to take my son and mate out to the brindabellas in canb for a drive. Never been up there. Was a great first intro and ended up over near tidbinbilla satellite observatory so went to grab some food. Was a great day with the little man and a mate. Going to head back there again so many trails there to explore. Very happy with the td5

Went playing with some lrregsa club members in the sandpit today. Great fun. I didnt get stuck this time. We were "trialing", driving through sticks or gates as they called them. I think i did well. I had the only series there so all the gates were set for discos and defenders. One member was too late to compete. He rocked up in his 1958 sa2 shorty ex military. Nice vehicle. Fun was had by all. Even the ladies had a go.

    Cheers Rod

Drove home from Yass with four kids for the school holidays. Most interesting bit of the trip was when we passed a 4 1/2 litre Bentley between Molong and Wellington. In regulation British Racing Green with polished aluminium front mudguards it was tootling along happily at about 95kph.

An indication of how expected speeds on the road have risen, that a Le Mans winner from 1930 was content to be passed by a thirty year old loaded four wheel drive towing a trailer - all below the speed limit. And probably a likely guess that the Landrover had covered more miles (598,000km) than the Bentley as well.

Threw a few yonnies in the fuel tank and gave it a whirl on the cement mixer in order to clean the inside up and shift all the rust/scale. Then it will get treated with PVC Glue and Primer to seal it. The cement mixer and stones did a great job, however I cannot take the credit for the idea.
That goes to Mr Turner from the LRRSA.
It made a fair old racket, not a job you would want to do early morning or late at night if you live in suburbia.

    Cheers, Mick.

I was just going to put some HID spotlights I got cheap on the bullbar and got carried away, put a stage 1 grille on and series light surrounds painted white. Not quite completed pic (top) but I like it.
