    Broke the lock nut socket changing the wheels. Gaaah!
    Now need to wait for the better half to get home from work so I can go and get a replacement.

    Put a slightly larger socket on the locknut with a piece of round rod between the two and the rod will grab the side of the locknut as you turn the socket.

    Bought a bargain secondhand Foxwing awning


    I guess I'd better think a bit harder about a roof rack or way to connect it to the D4

    Got another socket... and took some swearing amd encouragement with a hammer... but eventually all sorted.

    Needless to say, not putting them back on. But because I'm a masochist, will keep them as a souvenir...

    Been thinking along similar lines, maybe H.D suction cups, rather than a roof rack, but found nothing yet.

    Tech screws, that will work. there is so much fiber and insulation under the tin that it will bind up on the screw and never come off

    Been working on my D2 at night when the kids are asleep in preparation for a trip in late September to the NSW South Coast. Last night I put a new rubber donut on the rear prop shaft and replace the spigot/bush in the drive shaft. It was a bastard of a job. Also greased the shafts while I was under there. Night before I replaced the muffler and wired up my Ctek charger.

    Next on the list is a complete hose change and thermostat change with new coolant. Then I have to replace the brake fluid (with my awesome little mityvac that makes brake bleeding a dream), replace the viscous fan bearing and the idler, a full gearbox service including auto filter, oil change including the two filters and a new air filter! So will be busy over the next week at night. Can't wait

    Also took the D2 for a nice trip through the bush behind Marysville today. Had a lovely picnic with the whole family and the Landy ran awesome. Prop shaft didn't fall off and neither did the replacement muffler. Great pre-Father's Day had by all.
