    Pre Trip works

Fixed the upright dividers, and added some make shift door stays in my canopy getting ready for our SA trip next weekend. The stays will make it easier than the tent poles I've been useing.
Just have to move the awning back about 18 inches, oil change during the week, and lastly, the new/remake of the rear wheel carrier.
Now I can start to pack up the canopy during the week, ready to leave Sunday morning.

    Yeah mate, I know

If I had read OffTracks thread on gaskets for 10p motors I wouldn't have this situation. My rear window looks like a diesel giant has sneezed on it!
Basically they changed the design of the regulator for the 10p motor, before they changed it for the 15p motor.
So there's a superseded part number for the superseded regulator gasket, and an updated part number for the updated regulator gasket.
So when I went into land rover, unaware of this difference, when they asked me if I wanted an update or superseded gasket, I thought they meant 10p vs 15p.
    My bad.
Anyway, I made it home safely and I'll sort it out later when I can be bothered as right now I'm pretty well ****ed off about the whole thing.

I have neglected my 130 for a while since our trip, so today I removed the rear seats, seat box and seat belts out of the back. Plus stripped the under bonnet insulation which was buggered.

When I removed the rear storage box I found all the rear screws on the floor were loose so this may account for some extra road noise .

Now it's time for some TLC, and slowly get it to where I would like it. Hopefully including a respray, eventually.

Picked up the newest addition to the garage from a paddock just out of town. 300tdi auto 96. Pristine interior (except for the bloody liner.. is that just a disco thing?)

Fired her up for the first time in nearly a year. Fired first go but she is a dak dak!

Not firing on 1 cyl and didn't even have enough go to pull herself out of the mud

Got her home and removed the rocker cover/cyclone cleaner. Fired her up and there is a great amount of unburned smoke coming from the 4th cyl area and from the oil return line of the cyclone cleaner, so looks like 4th cyl is leaking into the oil return gallery somehow?

Diagnosing head gasket for now. Ran out of daylight today so tomorrows job is to pull the bugger off and check I guess!

Adjusted the clamp on the top coolant hose that had leaked, seems good for our next leg over the nullarbor.

Bought a gas powered soldering iron yesterday, in preparation for a wiring project I have in mind this week.

After putting new Drifta drawers in the D4 a couple of weeks ago, I added a bottle opener too them during the week

Amazing how much lighter these Drifta drawers are compared to my old ones that I made

I've also added a magnet under the opener to catch the bottle tops, works a treat
