Today started on Tuesday and will end on Monday next week. Ultimate Suspension are bolting in a Gwyn Lewis suspension kit and what was meant to be customised long travel shocks. Had to compromise on the custom shocks and go for the Dobinsons because of a shortage of shock parts for my requirements. Otherwise it was a 2 weeks wait.
Being bolted on:
+2" front turrets plus retention hook and upgraded coil base plates
extended brake lines
near to 11" travel shocks
carry over of existing +35mm coils
caster corrected radius arms
pin rear top shock mount
coil relocation cones and upgraded coil base plates
extended brake line
cranked trailing arms
near to 11" travel shock
carry over of existing +35mm coils
heavy duty steering arms (bent OEM which was chewing up my tyres)
industrial sized new wide angle front and rear prop shafts. The rear is 50% larger in circumference than the stock unit. Not that i need the larger unit, it was just the way it came and who am i to quibble with over-engineering.
Very excited.Hope the engineer is short sighted for any gray ADR matters.
Maybe the money would have been better spent on a new head and fix the exhaust manifold bolt but that's not as cool as suspension.

Finally put the tablet mount permanently into the car. Now i have 3 gps's sitting in view. All running different maps of the same area. So i hope never to get lost.
Next will be to get a Bluetooth gps receiver for the tablet to get a stronger signal. As that will be my main offroad mapping device. The small one in the middle is loaded with my Geocaches and the other is just a street map and will have to reversing camera hooked up to it eventually.
Next time i pull apart the dash i will feed all the wires in behind to neaten it up. Also i am wanting to place another Dual USB port to run the devices. Considering a Raptor Dash too. Then i wont need to pull apart the whole front of the car whenever i need to adjust and change over any parts.

Cleaned up and painted over a little bit of rust on one of Charlie's window frames. Pulled the rubbers back on the others but they appear to be all OK.
Had to move the RRC to get a couple of bikes out the back yard. It's been sitting for months, but it fired as soon as I hit the key.. Settled down into a nice smooth idle. Got to be happy with that. Just need to find the time to finish it now...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Washed, polished, waxed and vacuumed the D1, ready to stick it up for sale. And it does look good for it too.
Exhausted and sore now, that was the most exercise I've had since January!
