I Installed it today and was able to prime the system from the hand pump up to the fuel filter and on through to the injectors - I originally cracked the fuel filter bleed screw and primed, but it wouldn't start and run until i cracked the injector(s).
When being used for priming the pump tends to leak a bit from between the pump and the base above where it screws in, i'm not sure if this is by design, but it does the job and feels sturdier than the old one. Id be interested to know if anyone else's bosch primer pump leaks a little during use?
I have attached a pic of the old style pump (unscrewed and uninstalled) and a pic of the new bosch pump in place.

It should not leak. If it can leak diesel it could also suck in air.
Try a new copper washer and tighten it up.
