Does the TD5 Coolant Plug Kit ( Vehicle Bush Kits and Parts - Td5 Overheating prevention - Silicon blanking plug ) only suit TD5's in Defenders?
I was looking on my Discovery 2 as to where it would fit and the only thing I could see resembling it was a short hose that lead to a metal pipe running behind the head.
it takes the place of "the secret hidden heater hose no-one knows about) on vehicles that have the alternate fuel cooler configuration.
just get the secret hidden heater hose that no-one knows about, 2 hose clamps and a 1/2 inch chunk of aluminum.

More importantly it allows and answers questions about completely removing the water cooler and associated plumbing on TD5's fitted with the EGR water cooler.
Had I known about this it would have saved me removing the radiator and tapping the unused spigot on the my 2001 TD5 (Defender 110) and fitting the standard hose from the standard metal pipe running behind the head down the side of he motor (drivers side) and then the formed (standard) hose to the lower radiator.
I'm taking it from the write=up the blanking/plug from the oil cooler was a factory alternative on some vehicles probably South African?
So this coolant line is not required – oil cooler to radiator More correctly is not necessary.

My (Aussie) 2003 D2a has the blanking cap off the oil cooler. It split and I used a new hose the would normal go there and put in a bolt with two washers, one inside and one outside and tightened it up. All good.

I'm having a bit of drama trying to get this "not-so-secret-hose-because-I-changed-it-and-it-still-bl*^dy-leaks-so-I-know-where-the-ba&#ard-is" to stop leaking.
I have searched my browser history for a page that I visited (well, I don't think it was a dream) which showed how someone had tapped the oil cooler side spigot with some sort of threaded pipe to give a new surface to mount the hose onto.
I put a replacement hose onto it after cleaning up the corrosion that was there as best as I thought I could, and now it doesn't seem to matter how tight I do up the hose clamp it still seeps coolant after every trip.
Has anyone seen a tutorial in their web travelling on how you could effect a repair to corrosion of this spigot - without replacing the oil cooler?
Cheers for any advice.
