Carter 2 barrel carbies were commonly fitted to Valiants in Australia, both 6 and V8. They share the same bolt /top pattern as the WW2 stromberg twin barrell that was fitted to a few Holden 6 (186S) engines and a lot of 253 engines from the 60's to about 1980. Normally you replaced the carter with a stromberg, not the other way around. I suspect someone scored a 186S manifold and fitted the Carter because that was what he had lying around.
