Thread: disco 1 cannot remove hub from brake disc

support the old rotor on a pair of stands so the hub is free to fall.

place a block of wood over the back of the hub inside the rotor and then give it some loving with the FBH.

And when it comes time to put the new one one on, use the bolts like tightening wheel nuts ( 1-3-5-2-4) to pull the hub into the disc.

OR put the hub studs down into a rim with an inflated tyre put the rotor on the back of the hub, cover with a decent block of wood and hit it with the FBH.

then tighten the bolts up.

of course you only do this after you've cleaned out all the thread holes, cleaned the threads and then applied the appropriate loctite. then you use the torque wrench on them in the 13524 sequence.

Just make sure that the holes in the hub lines up with the disk! before you use the VFGBH, as they don't slip around too well afterwards.
If your eyesight isn't too good, cut the heads off a couple of spare bolts and screw them into the hub, using them as guides to let the disk down into place with.

Then use the BGFBHYCF, to better your aim with, to seat the disk home with.

I encountered a similar problem. Violence, persistence, patience and directed force will overcome any resistance in the end. If you have access to a blow torch or similar, warming up things will make it easier for you.
