After speaking with Chris at gibsons today, he will do them for either d2 or normal style flange depending on what you need, he said its easier for him to do it to a d2 flange, The unis in the DC and diff end are all greasable, he also tells me he has seen shafts with these uni's and splines come out of a mine truck after a few years use underground and they are still like new. BTW the unis/splines/DC's are all Italian made.
Checking out my front shaft to do a prototype shaft, there are no issues clearance wise to do this swap into a puma, and interestingly enough the puma front shaft already runs 1350 series uni's top and bottom, just no DC, where as the rear is 1300s top and bottom - i guess they intend the rear shaft to be there weak point comparing the front and rear shafts in my 130 the rear shaft is very poorly made sounds like its made of tin foil when you flick it but the front is much nicer quality. I will address that on mine when i do the salisbury conversion though.
He has done several land rover shafts as well and he is pretty confident that they should fit in d1/d2/defender/county etc without hassles. He doesnt mind doing custom lengths, he will do DC rear shafts if you want, he also said if anyone wants just the 1350 DC put into a existing shaft he should be able to do and said he can definetly put one in a puma front shaft by flipping it so the spline is on the diff end and put the DC on the other end. Not sure what this would cost but i will find out early next week.

Cal415,
I'm planning a trip in August so was curious did the shafts ever go ahead
I looked at 1350's a while ago and at least from the suppliers (4 of) I visited the issues with the 1350 on the D2 was clearance at the transfer end & matching the flange (could be overcome by reversing the usual woods route). Are they still in the pipeline?
I got my front shaft done, works great, very well made had some flange issues initialy i guess thats why i got a test shaft done first, It was to tight to use a standard output flange so i had to swap to a d2 flange, which cost me 30 bucks and took about 15mins to change over.
As for clearance, not problems fitting in a puma, we are going to probobyl get one made up for my brother in laws d1 with a ZF auto very soon so will see how it fits in a disco.
I was going to compile so info/pics and send it off to those interested this week, only been back from my fraser trip for a week and just havnt had time to do anything yet. Anyone local keen to be the first to do a d2? I dont think there will be any clearance issues after looking at my old D2 though.
I've got a D2 DC shaft in the front of my RR (on D2 flange), so interested in a heavy duty unit.

Depends on the basis of being the trial unit. I'm in serious need as I've been 2WD for over 6mths now. On the other hand need to accumulate some cash to pay for it, unless someone has some deckhand work going.
The D2 DC is at the tfr end and the slip joint is up there too.
