Fuel tank sender unit float - available?

Taking the SIII FFR to Motorfest, I noticed the fuel guage read empty, so I added 30 litres of premium without a change in the fuel guage reading.

Today Investigating the problem I found that the float had been replaced with a sink, or at least the float was full of fuel. The temporary fix was to steal the float out of Emmett's fuel tank.

Does anyone know if the float is available as a separate part and would you have a part number? Its not in any of my parts catalogues.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I would be very surprised if it were available by itself. It is not particularly critical - any light petrol resistant closed container about the right size would work. I assume the original is some sort of plastic. If needing to replace one, I would probably make one out of thin shim brass, soldered seams. That is what they would have been made of before plastics. Even jam tin would probably be light enough.

    Thanks John

The SIII ones and likely the late SIIa ones are plastic, I can buy the whole assemply aftermarket for 12GBP but given they have a reputation of leaking fuel in, I thought it may be a part by itself.
