    water problems with my 85 range rover

    hi all im having electrical problems with my 85 range rover ever time i go through water can anyone give me some tip or advise

    No, sorry leighscott - just had to say it. Seriously though, can you give more details on the issues you are experiencing when going through water - "electrical problems" is a pretty broad description...

    If you look back a couple of pages in the Classic section , this exact same topic was discussed a couple of weeks ago.
    That is if you are talking about engine stalling because of water , which is hard to tell from your post.

    the is engine stalling because of water and then it willn't start again for ages

    then the other week i did a mud/ water crossing. the next day i went for a drive and the car was cough and splutering and a couple of back fires then the car stalled and lost all power then it would not start until i got a jump start

    Water in the distributor. Take the cap off and dry inside the cap and dissy with a hair dryer or a couple of hours of sunshine. Fit a deflector shield made of plastic between the fan and the dissy to prevent high speed water hitting the dissy. Fit new leads with tight fitting boots, put electrical tape around the dissy body before putting the cap back on, carefully so you don't crack it.
