This is true for a single twist-to-break scenario. But such events are extremely rare. The majority of failures are fatigue and in fatigue the 24 spline axles are a far better design with a much longer life.

Which is why the 24 splines break less often than 10's.

Ive never seen a Landy axle with different spline count on each end.

Must have been made up - but why ?? I'd have just chucked a 24 spline diff in the rear, would have been cheaper & better....

countys front diffs are 10spline diff end, cv star 24spline, 24spline cv....defenders front diffs 24spline diff end, 32spline cv star,24spline cv....there is some variants in models in regards to cv dimensions mainly due to the introduction of traction control/abs systems rubbish and model change overs may have either as i dont think quality control is high on land rovers list..
Remember when the 90 was first built the Range Rover classic shape still had 10 spline diff end front and rear. So it's actually a case of not yet moving forward.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
