Are your front tyre pressures the same? If one is less it will pull that way.
Cheers,

Hi All,
I went on a quick trip to moreton over last weekend, it was the first time I have had the disco (1) on sand.
When driving through the softer stuff I noticed that I was having to use a fair bit of right-hand-down to keep things going in a straight line.
On the black top I have no such issues, and on the hard packed sand it was also fine, basically the softer the sand the more apparent the problem....
I'm not really that fussed about it, but would still like to sort it if possible any ideas?

Yeah that's an interesting thought.... they wouldn't have been exactly the same as i just used the deflate-pressure check-deflate-pressure check method to drop the pressures...
However they would have been within 1 PSI of each other.....
If you were driving along a beach somewhat near a water line, wouldn't the firmness of the sand vary quite a lot? Could be just differences in sand between the 2 wheels.
In saying that, I've never driven on sand.Planning to in a few weeks in my D1 though!
Driving on soft sand at even slight side angles will make the car want to steer downhill, like along a beach the car will pull towards the sea.
Apart from stating the obvious - im not much use here.
edit: or is that away from the sea ... hmm![]()
theres a lot of factors
on flat ground it will try to pull the car towards the soft patch
on sideslopes it tends to make the car want to pull downslope unless the back end is side stepping, then it wants to make you turn upslope.
on soft sand you will tend to pull towards the more inflated tyre
on hard sand you will tend to pull to wards the less inflated tyre
adding different diff configurations can change the handling as well

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
This is exacerbated by a Detroit Locker if you have one
AND, if you are in ruts, if the tyre is nibbling at the edge of the rut you will be pulled in that direction.

Did you have the CDL locked?
they do steer much better with it in,,
