Can't get new fuel pump working help please td5

Ok my defender td5 decided not to start the other morning the fuel pump was cutting in and out when I turned the key to glow plugs. Then the pump just stopped could not get it to prime at all so I've spent the $650 bucks and got a new one air freighted up I've just put it in and still won't work? Umm I've checked the fuel pump fuse and not to sure what the go is. Does any one have any suggestions because I would love to get my car going so I can see my lovely wife and my 2month old daughter for chrissie cheers?

Have you checked there is power getting to the pump?

Check the relay under the drivers seat that feeds it is working ok. Its one of the yellow ones.

Not sure what year your car is but mine is a 2002 its the second yellow relay from the back under the seat.
You could swap with one of the others to check if it is the relay

Still won't work..... - in that it is not pumping (i.e. no noise at all) or, in that the car won't start?

    Td5 fuel pump issues.

Tony, where abouts in Qld are you. Are you close to Mitchelton?
I have a Nanocom and am happy to come over and have a look for you.

    Cheers Nino

Test to see you have power actually at the pump.
    If no power then,
If your really stuck and there is no + positive going to the pump, you could rig up a wire from one of your accessory wires to the fuel pump. By doing this power will only be supplied whilst the key is in the on position.
turning the key off will cut power to the fuel pump.
I was desperate once and rigged up my wife's car, so she could drive it until we had proper times to find the fault
