My newly converted auto to manual Disco2 TD5

Due to my auto giving up on me I decided to convert my disco2 to manual gearbox. I know it's not as glamorous but it's functional. Went away on a long week, 600km trip. The problem is when I drive/speed over 120km/hour the engine just cuts off. Does anyone know why. Am still using the auto ECU?.
On my way back I was just cruising between 100 to 115 and no problem...:

Thats not a program in the ECU or BCU is it? I thought there was a 120km/h overspeed warning that could be activated.

BTW, well done on the conversion. I'm sure many would be interested in how you did it and how you dealt with the electronics.

Happy to share on how i did the conversion. I am also suspecting the ECU on the speed limit. But when I had the auto box I didn't have this problem. It drives fine, but of course when I plug in the Nanocom the ECU is complaining that it can't communicate with the auto gearbox. Am planning of getting a manual D2 ECU later.

Your location would make the manual conversion an attractive proposition as opposed to trying to source an auto locally or getting it brought up from SA.

If the ECU is complaining, it has probably gone into a Rev limit (limp home) mode to protect the auto GB.

As I recall on the auto box 120kph is around 2500RPM

Does the engine run past a possible rev limit in the lower gears?

    Cheers

Aren't you able to set the ECU to manual or auto mode with a nanocom or similar?
The 120kmh overspeed thing is fitted on UAE spec vehicles, and it's just a light on the dash and a warning chime AFAIK.
