Cheers for the feedback on that product, it should be stronger than even the one piece cross-pin centres.
Now if they'll make one for an LT95 I could be tempted!
Hi All
Noticed a few people on here asking about these units and after just fitting one of them to my 1995 Defender LT230 I though I should put a few comments on here about them. First of all Dave and the people at Ashcroft were very helpfull and answered any questions we had.The unit it self looked to be very well made and fitted without too much hassel. Since the unit has been fitted we have noticed a reduction in driveline play, better on and offroad traction. There doesn't seem to be any extract noise and it doesn't seem to affect handling at all.Very pleased with results and would recommend the unit to everyone.

When I pull the TC in mine to fix the leak I'm going to do a rebuild and fit one of these ATBs. Nice to hear you think they are a worthwhile mod DEF95![]()
we probably need about 30 more to get some made though
, one day perhaps

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
The first few Rangies had a clutch type LSD in the LT95 but the guy who showed it to be said they discontinued them because people didn't lock the centre diffs and wore them out? I kind of like the concept but find it hard to justify the money when it won't do much for performance since I can lock it anyway. Just be nicer.
Yes it should be stronger then the one piece and no washers to wear out. Done ours when we rebuild it with a ashcroft master rebuild kit and a sleeved case from MR automotive and NO leaks so far. Also fitted a rebuild R380 suffix K from ashcroft while we had it out.Only problem now is I need to save up some more money so I can put one in the front and rear diffs just wished ashcroft made one for the salisbury.
Interesting, so DEF95, is this a clutch plate type LSD, or a gear (Truetrac style) center diff? Having just 'done' the axles, this was the next thing I was looking at... As for your axles, fit a Detroit in the rear... Fit and forget! Truetrac in the front and you're done! Just talk to Lucky8 on here! Good to hear the Ashcroft item works well tho as I've just bought me a set of his Defender CV's...![]()
It is a Torsen style diff, so gear based.

Ashcroft were selling a Quaife ATB for the LT230's but that was 2 or 3 times the price of the Ashcroft ATB.
The Ashcroft ATB diffs are supposed to be a stronger design - closer to the Quaife implementation - than the TrueTracs, and the pricing is about the same.
Like the ATB/TrueTrac diffs the ATB centre diff should be an excellent match to 4wheel ETC. I'd be tempted to say that on the D2's that were missing the CDL internals that the ATB cente diff could be a better investment than retrofitting lever and cdl internals.
cheers
Paul
