I'm a little confused. What engine is in the 110?
Right I have decided against going with the ZF auto conversion to my 110 and am going to stick with ye old world lt95 mainly with the purpose of originality and after looking at ashcrofts ratio calculator, think a RR 1.174 gearing with 33" tyres will yield 2600rpm at 100kph. So my question is are the complete boxs the same apart from the smaller handbrake drum? plan to just bolt it in and hope it's a good 'un. Will a 3.9 rover be happy with this gearing? I don't mind the 4 speed, I think its not a bad V8 box for what it is

Why not go for the .996:1 gears in the transfer case. Will make it a little more relaxed on the highway and will go fine behind a 3.9.

That 0.996 gearset made it about 2200-2300 by memory with 33", could be a little low in a boxy 110?
The old 95 thats coming out has the 1.33 gears and sounds a bit busy at 100kph, but probably wouldnt have coped with a gear change, however it is a low comp 3.5, hoping for a reasonable power upgrade going to a high comp EFI 3.9
X2 on the 996 gear set it works well with 33in rubber
My old rangie had 996 transfer gears and standard 354 diffs and running 33x12.5x15 on it was perfect tho i had a tired 4.4 leyland pushing it and it did a mighty fine job
So a good 3.9 would work well with 996 gears id try it and if you dont like you can swap the transfer case gear set in situ under the county easy![]()
hi compression 3.9 will be way better on low end torque than a low comp, especially a 3.5 low comp.
should be fine with .996 gears however reversing up hills and taking off with a load will work the clutch out.
also, you guys have lots more hilly country than us...
maybe as lokka suggests try it out first, then if you want a 1.174:1 ratio set can be swapped in later if you feel like it relatively easily.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Double check the throw out fork pin length. (The one in the bell housing casting with a ball that the throw out fork fits on to ) They are different. I know someone who had his Rangie LT95 in and out of his County 3 times & even extended the clutch rod before learning this !!![]()
Well the lt95 rangie box is not a good 'un, seems allgood on inspection, except the centre diff is locked solid!! have taken the vaccum acuator housing off and the sliding dog is fine and all, but still locked regardless of whether its engauged or not. There were a few hunks of metal present too![]()
