I have exactly the same issue. I have over the years completed the following tasks. Clean MAF, Air Sensor, Intercooler hoses, oil harness replaced, ECU cleaned. I have been dealing with this for the last 5 years, and wish that I had a Nanocom close by to assist (Dunsborough, Busselton region anyone?) I am thinking though that it is a fuel supply issue.

Thanks for all the replies, the vehicle came out standard here with 18" tyres and no egr I have cleaned all the sensors but obviously that doesn't mean they are working correctly. I have checked the output side of the turbo and there is a little bit of side play on the shaft, blades all appear to be ok, I have not checked the exhaust side turbine blade or wastegate, the wastegate lever is free when disconnected from actuator. I obviously need to check boost pressure so I can rule out the turbo.

It could be a whole range of things. You really need to hook the vehicle up to real time diagnostics to verify the sensors are working. If the MAP or ambient pressure sensor have failed boost will be limited to protect the engine for example. It will be difficult to identify the exact cause of the problem without being able to view what the ECU is reading from the sensors

We have the same situation in terms of Nanocom availability - there is no local distributor. Everyone who has one imported direct from Blackbox Solutions or possibly a UK reseller. If you plan on keeping the D2 you should seriously consider investing in something like a Nanocom as it will save you money in the long run.

disconnect the sensors one at a time then both together and see what changes.

Roughly

IF the sensors are lying the engine is running in a "limp map" if the engine doesnt change the sensors are shot.

If it changes and gets worse it might be the sensors are on the way out but not enough that the ECU goes "you're crazy, that cant be right" and ignores them.

IF it gets better you have some other issues and the limp map is getting around them.

My D2 Td5 auto is pretty gutless on hills to! I thought this was normal? I cannot maintain the set speed limit on the (princes hwy) Mount Ousley or the F3 Sydney/Newcastle freeway as examples (long slow hills 80 90 100 110kph). Maybe you are expecting to much!

I agree with Northiam, I think you expect too much, find someone else with a similar vehicle and compare, methinks you are writing here without doing your own testing.

Maybe the extra 40Nm on my EU3 makes a difference but mine will accelerate at 110Kmh southbound up Moonie Moonie.

I find it holds better than my VERY modified ( for torque) 3.9 on all F3 hills.

So either it is the extra on the EU3 or there is something wrong with yours.
