Isn't there a 3 litre (?) version of the engine available and plentiful in South America? They could use common heads.
Has anyone that has purchased a new 300TDi head from UK or anywhere else noticed on the manifold side of the head a plate attached with Manufactured for "International Engines South America" with the address in Brasil underneath, thanks in advance, Regards Frank.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Yes there is a 2.8 that I know of, reason I'm asking is I rang a couple of sellers in the UK and asked where they sourced their heads from. A couple said from Iternational in Brasil the same heads fitted to the 2.8's, they said they sourced their heads from China.
So I figured if the available heads from S.A. and UK originally came from China I could cut out the middle men and go direct to the manufacturers and save some dollars. As the plate on the head I have has "manufactured for" leads me to believe that they come originally from China, Regards Frank.
I purchased one from Turners about 15 months ago. I do not recall seeing this plate. Mine was a performance head. Turners do some mods, so if it did have such plate it could have been removed.
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
