    It would seem from following Graeme's links (good find Graeme!) that the EGR removal modules for the EDC17 specific to the LR 3.0 ltr diesels were only added by Swiftec in July this year. Avon only released the DPF tuning capability last month. I'd imagine this may start to trickle through to other tuners now, but obviously it's a relatively new advance, hence the conflicting information we all seem to have.

    I've been in and looked at this, as far as it says they can, I'm pretty sure I've emailed them before and they have said no, but that was quite a while ago, so I might inquire again, I did notice that it can be done remotely(I'm assuming diagnostic tool and Laptop), something I didn't see previously.

    From memory Graeme, I think a member did mention the 2011MY D4 had an ECU change(gghaggis may confirm this or not) and it was a Siemans product that was mentioned(I've never claimed to be tech savvy with electronics)

    Looks like there's hope yet, hopefully the remap and EGR can be done on the 2011MY D4 2.7L.

    I'm in no rush, as the car is still under warranty.

    If you want to compare stats then I guess it all defends on what your comparing it to, but if your comparing it to a Defender then don't worry. The Defenders are slow and underpowered in comparison and have a low tow ball weight so its near imposible to tow 3.5 ton with one legally, as most vans etc are set up with roughly a 10% ball weight and a Defender has a factory ball weight rating of about 250 kg from memory, where as the Disco is rated to 350 kg, or to put it more plainly 10% of 3.5 ton.

    Heavy towing is not all about power either, a real bonus is that D3/4/RRS's don't need WDH's like every other vehicle does when the weight gets up and the LR air suspension and stability control works a treat on them, so you have picked a very good vehicle for towing that should do the job in comfort and be great off road or on long trips.

    I have owned a 2.7 d4 for just two months, i bought a UK chip but have been tardy in fitting, Truth is that I'M only lkg for better economy
    just I really like the d4, previous owner spent real do ray me on it, so its has all been done--i hope
    made a box for it, kept it shallow so tailgate does not come down on it holds my stove water and can be used as a table, i shimmed the rhs tow spigot so there is little movement, 2.5mm chequer , 5052 grade0 5083 lid 3mm, cos that is what I had laying around
    I will form such for free if anyone needs it

    What about something like thisjust fitted to mine - hopefully attached?

    Then again, I met a guy while travelling AUS last month who swears by his Roo Systems plug and play, claiming all sorts of wonders for economy and power.
