    Teflon runners for drawer system

    Hello together,

Planing to build a drawer set for my D2 and wondering whether someone knows where I can purchase the Teflon strips which for example Drifta uses?

    Cheers

Some strips of formica type surface glued so it slides face to face will do the same job. Easy to get from a board cutting bloke.

Sorry what is Formica? I have the Teflon strips face to face on my drifta drawer or the d3 but would be happy with any alternative

    Have a look here:

Polycarbonate Sheets & UHMW Polyethylene Lengths : CARBA-TEC

And if you manage to walk out with JUST what you go in the to buy, I will be very surprised...

Track down a Dotmar branch; Engineering Plastic Products: Plastic Sheets, Plastic Rods, Plastic Tubes, Polyurethane Products and Conveyor Components

They have teflon but it is very expensive because it handles very high heat. You might just need some HDPE, which is very slippery and quite cheap. Note that you can't glue HDPE, so you either have to mechanically fix it using screws etc or heat weld it.

Drift use polyethylene plastic skids, not Teflon.

If you don't mind using metal draw sliders I got mine from Bunnings 600mm ones about $20 a pair, soft closing to be extra fancy.

    Teflon runners for drawer system

    Agree with Stacks,

Plenty of two stage (full extension) ball bearing runners for kitchens that you can use.

Galvins Hardware, Hafele, (specialist cabinetmaking suppliers) have some great runners that come in some good lengths 450 - 500+

Check the ones Stacks got or maybe Bunnings could order maybe order in runners in deeper size if necessary .......

Drawers are on my things to do list ...... and I'm in an associated industry

    Cheers

I used many years ago, the white plastic strips about 40mm x 4mm that are usedto cover joins in fibro on houses, come in 3m lengths from Bunnings about 10 bucks, worked atreat, 2 strips on bottom of draws and one each side then the same screwed to correspond on the frame bit of a wipe and a smear of vaso every 4-5 trips solid as...
