Ben, I have seen a few mounted on the carrier and they (CW&P) didn't appear to be any different to the standard one, maybe it is lapped and a different part number but I couldn't see any difference. The carrier is definitely not the same offset as a 3.54 one in the same design (4 pinion steel centre). I have compared them side by side (1 from a 6BY and the other from an RFSV) and the 6By one wont fit inside the 4X4 pumpkin due to the different crownwheel offset.
    Cheers......Brian

I built an off road buggy in the UK, which had large dumper tyres on it. I ran 4.7's I it but they kept disintegrating! Had to go to 3.5's with no backlash to make the axles reliable. They took a flogging then (Ashcroft Shafts). If you want really low speed... Then its time to get the welder out. If you can make a front Salisbury and find a 110 rear, I have a pair of 5.7:1 R&Ps... That'd really slow your Disco down, give you solid axles and a low low ratio.....

Bahaha! with 5.7:1s I could run 40" tires and have the same freeway rpm as 35s!!!

...but alas, I don't really want to go to the expense of swapping to Salises..
