    Hi Joel,

I've read the whole thread and it's a good one.

If I were you I would get rid of the extended bump stops, as they are robbing you of the extra bump clearance that lets you run softer springs.

To accommodate the longer shocks you need to raise the upper mount.

My thanks to John and the others who again are sharing their knowledge with the rest of us.

    Thanks mate,

The replies have been excellent but very heavy. I want to sit down and read them and understand them so I haven't been responding.

I understand what you mean about the bump stops and this has been a little bit of a stuff up on my account as well.

The 7100 shocks have external reservoirs. Now I didn't like them mounted under the bonnet because it gets pretty hot under there and it sort of defeats the purpose of having such good shocks if I'm just heating them up in ways other than bump dampening.

The best solution would have been cage style shock towers but I thought I don't want more openings for dust and water to get under the bonnet from the wheel arches and I thought they were a bit expensive.

My solution was to extend the hoses and mount the external reservoirs in the vent space at the base of the windscreen. They do stay stone cold (atmospheric temp) located there. The down side was the cost. I wont say a bad word about the guys at Enzed up here in Darwin they are top guys but I didn't really know what it was going to cost me to get a couple of hydraulic hoses made up to extend the reservoirs, $176. Then I had to get the shocks topped up by Bilstein to account for the extra but of hose, $50.

The end result I could have got extended cage type towers for less them $160 and maintained the upward travel of the suspension.

I highly doubt it would have solved my problem of hitting the bump stops all together. My spacers are only 20mm and they are getting hit pretty hard.

If the heavier springs don't fix it, then its spring spacers to get full 2" over standard height and then maybe I'll have to consider the raised shock towers.

    Happy Days.
