The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Couldn't agree with you more JC. Pretty disappointing, especially as I have not flogged the thing at all. I suppose there will not be any improvement to the replacement shaft that goes in either?

At least the dealer and Land Rover customer care have been excellent.... So far.

it was my understanding that closer attention/ quality control has been applied to these parts as this is a lot more prevalent than we know about the world over. i pulled a transfer case from a d3 last week and was horrified to see no lube on the splines into the transfer case and rusty fretting already. IMO lots of these failures are due to poor assembly also.

    still no excuse

I heard a rumour that LR were neglecting the defender tooling with the idea of an earlier cut to the model. This was reportedly the cause of poor machining tolerances in many areas.
Then when they extended the model run until 2015 the tooling was fixed, the tolerances back to where they should be and many problems stopped.

I'm not sure when the dark days were.

With all these potential failures in the driveline, are there after market replacement parts available as an upgrade. I honestly would prefer to fork out $$ to make the car more reliable then rely on winning the jackpot of a potential failure.

Couldn't agree with you more Voltron. I would be happy to spend my own money now to ensure there are no weaknesses in the driveline rather than risk parking my defender on a sand dune 3 months out of warranty.

From the sounds of things dealers prefer not to talk about the alleged problems (I can understand why) but I would much rather being able to check for them.
