Hi everyone, well it appears that a transfer case issue I thought had been dealt with has resurfaced again... when the vehicle came to me it was jumping out of high range so upon exploring why I discovered stripped dogs on both the intermediate shaft and the hi range gear as well as worn bearings, this box has taper roller bearings, I replaced the parts with new and adjusted everything according to what little info I could glean from others. It changed well, got power to the ground without even looking like it thought about jumping out.
BUT NOW it's doing it again jumping out of hi range, I hope someone else could help by offering suggestions as to why please...
Thanks

Unless you've been really nasty with it and worn the dogs off again (unlikely) then I'd suspect an adjustment issue or something has come loose.
Other thing to check would be that there's not something external to the box (trim etc) stopping it engaging fully.

Yeah thanks guys, BarefootDave I have pm'd Brian, here's hoping. SteveG yeah mate trim is all good etc had driven 150ks before starting its carry on again. Thing is driving me nuts after waiting for over a week for parts then assembly etc. By the way I can recommend Cairns Land Rovers, good parts knowledge.
Check to see if the hi/low lever is hitting the seat box. Mine does care of the twerp that used to be at Kingswood that took a lot of my money, and means going into high range can be a bit of a hazard, as it doesn't engage properly and lets go with an almighty bang like a gunshot. It has also lead to further premature wear...
I took to the seat box with a dremel to ease it a bit as it's a box out (either gb or seatbox) job to fix as far as I understand. Might have gained 1.5mm, may not be quite enough, but it is better than it was!
Thanks for the advice guys, I've taken all on board and I will explore all the avenues before the box comes out again. BarefootDave, sage advice mate, spoke to Brian, glad I did. Let's see what happens next.
