    Hope I'm not out of place, but I thought the first reason to fit a snorkle was river fording to keep water out of the air intake under the bonnet, more specificly for deisels, bult also V8's, secondly better air on dirt roads, and last for the pose.

    I first saw the ram on backwoods on Cape York '96 ('76 Rangie), suppose to stop waves running down through the throat we where told ( I am outer there if its that deep) we did it of course not to be seen as tourists, but back in '72 in old series, made it accross the Jardine without one, so I guess where I'm heading with this, mines on these days for the pose ('97 Defender) as I've only had water on the wipers & running over the door sills (Yalwal)! :wink:

    nothing wrong with water over the door sills,,,,,

    not much right with it either,, but thats me,, I own a boat for those things :wink:

    the MAJOR reason is clean air,,, and it IS important,, around town or in the bush. Over the life of the vehicle it does make a difference. no pose reasons required :wink: [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]

    When I spoke to the guy at ARB, he said do you want to take it back to them to get it fixed, my reply "If you had a brand new vehicle, would you want a retarded F*$!kwit working on it", to which he replied "I see your point", So I am going over to head office next weekend and I am getting it fixed :wink:
