    egt gauge

Hi all . Need to fit a new exhaust temp gauge.
The question is, where is the best location for the most accurate reading. The egr plate would be the easiest spot to put the probe ,but not sure if in the exhaust dump pipe would not be the best spot. Not sure if it's best close to the head.

    Thanks Matt

go the ERG plate its easy enough, just give yourself a 25 degree margin on the temp clime rate when you're up near the 550-600 mark.

I've been told max 700 pre turbo. Anything higher you risk degrading your turbo.

Also been taught to treat it as a guide on the engine rather than a direct measurement as a lot of things can alter your EGT's.
