    The morning after report!

there IS a noticable difference in the vehicle. it does have more get up and go esp in the top end.

i would not have thought it would be as pronounced as it is, as this is a really well looked after motor. with 170000k on the clock.

i can only imagine what impact it would have on something that hadnt been spoilt like this thing has been.

still got half a bottle of fuel additive and the oil flush will do at least 3-4 more changes so it is definetly worth the $90 for the fuel additive and oil flush combo pack IMHO

a definete thumbs up from me.

    Hi Dave
Good to hear, now I know the extra power in our TRYTOO isnt my imagination.
Then again, running out of puff at 120 compared to pulling strong at 140 cant be put down to imagination.
I have an oilchange due in the next month or so in the Trytoo, will let you know how it goes.

the two filters cost $54.00 + the cost of a good quality oil. and i like to change at every 5000 kms cos i push the thing a bit harder than im supposed to. (i thought it was a race truck)

2.5 litre, turbo charged, intercooled, four wheel drive.
    just like a wrx....???
I thought the idea of the centrifugal filter was that it didn't get changed at every oil change but the standard filter did?

that is the idea of it...its supposed to be a good filtration system which prolongs the oil changes to every 20,000kms.
i still like to change at 5,000kms...(old school)
the thing cost me near $50,000 so i plan to keep it going as long as possible....cant afford to replace it!!
im just trying to buy the same filters a bit cheaper.
most genuine parts are more expensive because the box says land rover
why pay 10-20 dollars more for a box im going to throw away?

cant win, but will keep searching.

For TD5, the rotor (centrifuge) gets changed every 20,000Km and the white spin-on full flow filter gets changed every 60,000.

Like I said earlier find an old toyota centrifugal filter and retro fitt it these come a part and you just clean them out and put it back. I have a mate who fitts them to every thing he has even his Etype jag.

    Hi Guys
Was maintence day on the Mitsa****Y Trytoo today.I used the CEM oilflush again before droping the oil.I overdosed to what they say(I put 30ml in the oil, should be arond 21ml) as Im pretty sure this motor is gunked up again. Its done almost 11000 ks since the last oil/filter change.
I took it for a good run, twice up to 150,it never used to do much better than 120!!! I then went up to the rubbish tip wich has a steep gravel hill driveway, held it flat in second gear, pretty good acceleration no wheelspin. After returning home I left it fast idle 1200 rpm with the aircon on full and the lights/spoties on highbeam (to provide load) for 20 mins.
After finishing the service it idles smoother,I then went up to the tip to see if there was any improvement, got to 2000rpm and got wheelspin, went to 3rd same them 4th same again.Seemed to pull stronger on the bitumen, and it was in the hot afternoon, the morning run was quite cool so there is an improvement.
We ran out of the diesel treatment a few weeks back, there only was a slight worsening of MPG

    Hi all,
    Well i bought the Kit.
Did the Oil Flush. Black crap came out..... as it should.

    Fuel treatment is working.

I've done 2000km since the oil dump and fuel treatment.
Runs Smoother, Economy is the same.

    Its worth trying it.

    Regards

I don't understand why it would gunk up in 11k km, I'm a bit reluctant to use flushing treatment to often I don't reckon it would be real good for the bearings all that detergent flooting around.
