nothing out of the ordinary to report.

still getting 700k plus from a 70 litre load of fuel (and i am not a slowly does it driver as rocket will attest) and the motor runs great imho

i am about out of fuel additive so will be getting more of it as i think it definetly makes a difference. I am actually running a tank full of fuel without the additive at the moment and i can feel the difference when the motor is cold.

I run shell distallite and penrite hpr15 diesel oil.

i follow the instructions on the bottle of oil flush and add a bit 1/2hr running time before dropping the oil, works out well as i work 1/2hr from home. due for another change in about 2000 klms. Last oil change there was no noticeable amount of extra oil on the drop pan.

i have enough of the oil additive for a few more changes, and i will be buying more of it.

i think it is money well spent, but i am just a dumb fitter that now fixes computers for a living ....

Has anyone run this stuff through the TD5 yet? I'm just wondering how it will go with the centrifuge.

To flush or not to flush????

Took my new (for me) disco 1 Tdi to a diesel specialist in Bundy for its first service with me (230000K). I supplied all the consumables including the cem oil flush.

Mechanic was very hesitant to use it in my engine claiming it was abrasive and not such a good idea for an engine with so many K's.

Took his word for it this time but still thinking of using it when I change the oil at 5000K's.

Is it safe to use? Are there valid opinions for not using it?

    Cheers

    Sean

    As an update:

still using the CEM oil treatment at each oil change as per their instructions and i have gotta say it is still getting better. 189000 ks up on the unit now and it has way more get up and go than it had when i bought it.

This week i did 759k's on 69 litres of juice.

I am no longer using CEM fuel treatment as i am trying out a bottle of "Fuel Doctor" on DiscoTdi's recommendation. It appears to be as good as the CEM product.
