And I reckon the oiled bearings are the way to go - until I have to change the seals on the track into Limmen Bight.
Re dinner, you're on. This time I won't feel bad about you inviting me now I know you are the chef!

Re the bearings, actually, having done it again today. the seal change isn't that difficult - but I had access to the correct size drift for driving in the seal (I borrowed one from the local LR workshop). Actually, I used their lathe to modify a drift abaddonxi had given me - it wasn't quite the right size for an RTC3511 (dunno what it was actually for). That put the seal in most of the way then I used the workshop's drift to drive it fully home.

The biggest problem with a seal change is loosening the brake calliper bolts. Always carry a breaker bar!

I also need to modify my tube spanner so I can use it with a torque wrench for tightening the hub nuts. (I forgot to check if my 3/4" drive socket set had the right size socket )

Is it really this simple, surley there must be more to it or everyone and there dog would have done it.
There is more to it for the rear. You don't just remove the hub seal and replace with the RTC3511. You also have to remove the axle oil seal.
In the front you also remove the stub axle seal.

I have done all four hubs to oil fed on mine. The seals I used had a lip on them which corresponds to the groove on the edge of the hub bearing hole. So it sits flush with the end of the hub.

I've only had one leak which was the rear right. I pulled it apart and emery taped the surface the seal runs on. Reassembled with the same seal and all is well. That repair was done after getting back from our Easter weekend trip so not that long ago.

Sorry, I assumed Wortho meant the inner axle seal. I was wrong!

Please don't tell my wife. I'd hate her to think I may have been wrong. She's had 38 years of me being right.
