Well after about half an hour with speed up to 30km/h, the diff was slightly warm so I decided that will do.

As soon as I undid the plug I remembered why you shouldn't run engine oil in a gear box. The oil was all milky, not from water but air. Engine oil has detergent to wash the bores but that also lets it foam. I don't think I would have done any damage going for a short run but I'll remember now to only use engine oil in a diff or gearbox in an emergency.

I'll post some pics of the oil colour soon.

    Happy days

I'm a skeptic and am not convinced the Redline is going to be significantly better than any other quality brand EP gear oil in the diffs. Maybe use the Redline in the TC.
Ron, I'm just horrified! I think I need a Panadol!

She got left to drain for over an hour as I had to go and pick my daughter up from school and take her shopping.

All done now though and fully degreased.

Well this is what came out:

And this is what my flush oil looked like. The "engine oil" was the cheap oil I used for the flush looked like straight from the bottle and the other 2 are what they looked like when they came out.

I was happy to see the flush oil come out a bit dark as it means it did some good and actually flushed out some gunk. I noticed it was a little glittery in the sun too.

    Happy Days.
